Torbjorn Sindballe, first off the bike, made the turn onto Palani before anyone else entered T2

Next out of T2 was Chris Lieto. He scorched the bike, but seemed to have some difficulty on the run.

Faris Al Sultan coming around the corner.

Cam Brown ran himself to 5th place at the end of the day

Right behind him was Craig Alexander - the man everyone was watching out for

Switzerland's Ronnie Schildknecht coming up the hill. Ronnie also had an amazing day, placing 4th.  

The fun-loving Bryan Rhodes, sporting mutton chop sideburns, coming around the corner  

Stadler on the run. He fought hard to keep the lead from Llanos, but eventually the elastic snapped and he finished 13th.  

Eneko Llanos battled for first place, but would have to settle for 2nd today

Rutger Beke followed by Eduardo Sturla. Rutger had a fantastic race today, finishing 3rd - a nice answer to his Kona experience last year

Timo Bracht and Cam Brown. Although they'd finish 5th and 6th respectively, Bracht eventually was dq'd for not serving a draft penalty.  

Chrissie Wellington with her moto entourage. She broke the course record today for the marathon, running a 2:57:44.

Team TBB athlete Belinda Granger, always a force on the bike, had a tough time on the run today.

Dede Griesbauer was a major player today, staying at the top through the swim and bike. She'd end up 10th overall.  

Kate Major, looking very fit, also had a tough time on the run and would finish 25th today

Spain's Virginia Berasategui worked her way from 13th off the bike to 6th overall with her 3:03 marathon
