Just less than four hours after this photo was snapped, Andy Potts was the first of these men to finish, marking his first win at Lake San Antonio, Calif.

↑ 정도라면 정말 한가짓게 수영할 수 있겠지만 ..
요즘은 한국에서도 참가자가 많아져서 ..수영출발하면 몸싸움하며 아비규환이죠 ..
동시 출발을 해서 능력에 맞게 가야 하는데 ..
참가자가 많다는 이유로 연령대별 출발 합니다 ..결국 수영시합장이 사람이 가득찬 동네 목욕탕이 됩니다 ㅎㅎ
.....
심장마비나 기타의이유로 익사한다 해도 모를 정도로 붐비는 거죠

The searing heat forced this athlete to ask a volunteer for a little extra ice water at an aid station.
경기특성상 여름철에 열리기에 체온조절을 잘 해야합니다 ...시합 중에 저렇게 계속 물을 뿌려서 체온을 낮춰 줘야합니다
경기 후에는 마사지와 반신 얼음목욕을 하면 빠른 회복을 할 수 있습니다




 
Photo: Michael Rauschendorfer The island of Lanzarote in Spain’s Canary Islands provides some of the most striking scenery in all of triathlon, but it also has the most menacing bike course on the Ironman circuit. The race is so hard that after winning this year’s event, Scotland’s Bella Bayliss proclaimed that she may never race another Ironman again. Thankfully, she has already race the Ironman since this race.

철인경기는 혼자서두 할 수 있는 개인운동으로 이뤄져 있고, 주연령대는 50대노땅남성이 대세, A형 참가자가 대세 입니다
단지 시합에 참가하기 위한 준비기간도 길고, 비용도 골프만큼 들고, 많은 노력과 함께 시간도 필요합니다
집념이 없다면 참가조차 어려운 터프한 경기이기에 대부분 그들만의 경기로 흘러버리는 경향이 있습니다
엄밀히 말한다면 트라이경기는 활성화 되기 어려운 스포츠입니다

여태의 영상에서 보기와는 달리 ..
킹코스를 완주해서 진정한 철인으로 다시 태어나는 순간의 감정은 기쁨이 아닙니다
'아무것도 존재하지 않는 허무' 의 끝을 맛 본 외로움 그 자체이더군요 
마치 라마교의 수도승이 삶에서 깨달은 모든 것들을 그림으로 그리고 ..바로 부수는 그런 작업과 비슷하다고나 할까요 .. 

인생에 한 번 킹코스를 완주했다고 영원한 철인은 아닙니다 ..킹코스를 완주하는 년도안에서만 철인이라 불릴 수 있죠 ..
올 해도 다시 철인이 되는 순간을 위해 살빼기부터 시작하고 있습니다
이것은 스포츠 얘기가 아니라 철인의 인생인겁니다 ..
